Welcome to Our Church

We are a branch of The Mother Church.

Our church, First Church of Christ, Scientist in Fairfax, Virginia, is one of the worldwide branches of The Mother Church, the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Mother Church was formed by the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, in 1879 with the mission to “organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing.”

In following this mission, we started our branch church here in Fairfax in the early 1950s. We first began meeting regularly in the old Fairfax Town Hall building. Then, in October, 1958 we built a new church edifice on Old Lee Highway in Fairfax, Virginia.

Since then, for almost 65 years, we have lovingly maintained our beautiful church building to hold Sunday church services, Sunday School, and Wednesday evening testimony meetings.

Our Christian Science Reading Room is located right here in the church building as well and it’s open during the week. Come visit!

We invite you to join us! You are welcome!
