From The Bible

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
(Psalms 133:1)

... Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. ¶ And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there. ...

And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water. And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac’s herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him. And they digged another well, and strove for that also: ...

And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; ...

And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, ...

... ¶ Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, ...

And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you? And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee; That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD. ...

... and they departed from him in peace.
(Genesis 26:16 Abimelech, 17, 19–21 (to :), 22 (to 2nd ;), 24 (to 5th ,), 26 (to 1st ,), 27–29, 31 4th and)

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
(Lamentations 3:26)

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
(Hebrews 13:5, 6)

Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
(Psalms 146:5)

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
(Mark 1:9–11)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ...

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
(Hebrews 11:1, 3)

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
(Romans 8:24, 25)

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, ...

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. ...

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ...

Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, ...

And they were all amazed and marvelled, ...

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. ...

... ¶ Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, ...
(Acts 1:1, 2 (to ,); 2:1, 2, 4, 6 (to 2nd ,), 7 (to 1st ,), 38, 41, 42 (to 2nd ,))

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
(Titus 2:11–13)

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
(Romans 15:13)

A germ of infinite Truth, though least in the kingdom of heaven, is the higher hope on earth, ...
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 361:25–27 (to ,))

HEAVEN. Harmony; ... government by divine Principle; ...
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 587:25 (only, to 1st ;), 25–26 government (to 1st ;))

DOVE. A symbol of divine Science; ... hope and faith.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 584:26 (only, to 1st ;), 27 hope)

HOLY GHOST. Divine Science; ...
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 588:7 (only, to ;))

In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or divine laws of Life, Truth, and Love, and named my discovery Christian Science. God had been graciously preparing me during many years for the reception of this final revelation of the absolute divine Principle of scientific mental healing.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 107:1)

Divine Science derives its sanction from the Bible, and the divine origin of Science is demonstrated through the holy influence of Truth in healing sickness and sin. This healing power of Truth must have been far anterior to the period in which Jesus lived. It is as ancient as “the Ancient of days.” It lives through all Life, and extends throughout all space.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 146:23)

The term CHRISTIAN SCIENCE was introduced by the author to designate the scientific system of divine healing. ...

Christian Science differs from material science, but not on that account is it less scientific. On the contrary, Christian Science is pre-eminently scientific, being based on Truth, the Principle of all science.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 123:16, 30)

This apodictical Principle points to the revelation of Immanuel, “God with us,” — the sovereign ever-presence, delivering the children of men from every ill “that flesh is heir to.” Through Christian Science, religion and medicine are inspired with a diviner nature and essence; fresh pinions are given to faith and understanding, and thoughts acquaint themselves intelligently with God.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 107:7)

Many imagine that the phenomena of physical healing in Christian Science present only a phase of the action of the human mind, which action in some unexplained way results in the cure of disease. On the contrary, Christian Science rationally explains that all other pathological methods are the fruits of human faith in matter, ...

The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus’ time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. xi:1–7 (to 1st ,), 9–14)

Divine Science adjusts the balance as Jesus adjusted it. ...

The nature of Christianity is peaceful and blessed, but in order to enter into the kingdom, the anchor of hope must be cast beyond the veil of matter into the Shekinah into which Jesus has passed before us; and ... righteous as well as through their sorrows and afflictions. Like our Master, we must depart from material sense into the spiritual sense of being.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, pp. 40:8–9, 31–2 (to and); 41:4 righteous)

The theology of Christian Science includes healing the sick.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 145:31–32)

Jesus established his church and maintained his mission on a spiritual foundation of Christ-healing.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 136:1–2)

CHURCH. The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle.

The Church is that institution, which affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race, rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and the demonstration of divine Science, thereby casting out devils, or error, and healing the sick.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 583:12–19)

Jesus illustrated the divine Principle and the power of immortal Mind by healing sickness and sin and destroying the foundations of death.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 171:14)

The verity of Mind shows conclusively how it is that matter seems to be, but is not. Divine Science, rising above physical theories, excludes matter, resolves things into thoughts, and replaces the objects of material sense with spiritual ideas.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 123:11)

Divine Science rolls back the clouds of error with the light of Truth, and lifts the curtain on man as never born and as never dying, but as coexistent with his creator.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 557:18)

To himself, mortal and material man seems to be substance, but his sense of substance involves error and therefore is material, temporal.

On the other hand, the immortal, spiritual man is really substantial, and reflects the eternal substance, or Spirit, ...
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 301:6–11 (to 3rd ,))

... Substance is that which is eternal and incapable of discord and decay. Truth, Life, and Love are substance, as the Scriptures use this word in Hebrews: “The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Spirit, the synonym of Mind, Soul, or God, is the only real substance.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 468:17–22 Substance)

Science relates to Mind, not matter. It rests on fixed Principle and not upon the judgment of false sensation. ... Truth is ever truthful, and can tolerate no error in premise or conclusion.

If you wish to know the spiritual fact, you can discover it by reversing the material fable, be the fable pro or con, — be it in accord with your preconceptions or utterly contrary to them.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, pp. 128:27–28; 129:5–10)

Life, Truth, and Love are the realities of divine Science. They dawn in faith and glow full-orbed in spiritual understanding. As a cloud hides the sun it cannot extinguish, so false belief silences for a while the voice of immutable harmony, but false belief cannot destroy Science armed with faith, hope, and fruition.

What is termed material sense can report only a mortal temporary sense of things, whereas spiritual sense can bear witness only to Truth. ...

Spiritual sense, contradicting the material senses, involves intuition, hope, faith, understanding, fruition, reality.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 298:2–10, 13–15)

“The prayer of faith shall save the sick,” says the Scripture. What is this healing prayer? ... It is neither Science nor Truth which acts through blind belief, nor is it the human understanding of the divine healing Principle as manifested in Jesus, whose humble prayers were deep and conscientious protests of Truth, — of man’s likeness to God and of man’s unity with Truth and Love.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 12:1–2 (to ?), 10)

Love for God and man is the true incentive in both healing and teaching.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 454:17–18)

The test of all prayer lies in the answer to these questions: Do we love our neighbor better because of this asking?
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 9:5–7)

... what greater justification can any deed have, than that it is for the good of one’s neighbor?
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 440:15–16 what)

When we realize that there is one Mind, the divine law of loving our neighbor as ourselves is unfolded; ...
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 205:22–23 (to ;))

The physician who lacks sympathy for his fellow-being is deficient in human affection, and we have the apostolic warrant for asking: “He that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” Not having this spiritual affection, the physician lacks faith in the divine Mind and has not that recognition of infinite Love which alone confers the healing power.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 366:12–19)

Our Master said to every follower: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature! . . . Heal the sick! . . . Love thy neighbor as thyself!” It was this theology of Jesus which healed the sick and the sinning.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 138:27–31)

The rich in spirit help the poor in one grand brotherhood, all having the same Principle, or Father; and blessed is that man who seeth his brother’s need and supplieth it, seeking his own in another’s good. Love giveth to the least spiritual idea might, immortality, and goodness, which shine through all as the blossom shines through the bud.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 518:15–21)

My weary hope tries to realize that happy day, when man shall recognize the Science of Christ and love his neighbor as himself, — when he shall realize God’s omnipotence and the healing power of the divine Love in what it has done and is doing for mankind.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 55:16–21)

In infinite Life and Love there is no sickness, sin, nor death, and the Scriptures declare that we live, move, and have our being in the infinite God.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 381:17)

Brood o’er us with Thy shelt’ring wing, / ’Neath which our spirits blend / Like brother birds, that soar and sing, / And on the same branch bend. / The arrow that doth wound the dove / Darts not from those who watch and love.

If thou the bending reed wouldst break / By thought or word unkind, / Pray that his spirit you partake, / Who loved and healed mankind: / Seek holy thoughts and heavenly strain, / That make men one in love remain.

Learn, too, that wisdom’s rod is given / For faith to kiss, and know; / That greetings glorious from high heaven, / Whence joys supernal flow, / Come from that Love, divinely near, / Which chastens pride and earth-born fear,

Through God, who gave that word of might / Which swelled creation’s lay: / “Let there be light, and there was light.” / What chased the clouds away? / ’Twas Love whose finger traced aloud / A bow of promise on the cloud.

Thou to whose power our hope we give, / Free us from human strife. / Fed by Thy love divine we live, / For Love alone is Life; / And life most sweet, as heart to heart / Speaks kindly when we meet and part.
(Christian Science Hymnal, No. 30)

With one accord in one place, / In joyful praise of God’s grace, / We join together in one divine embrace. / A rushing mighty Spirit / Descends from heaven, hear it: / “I have touched your heart / And made whole your heart, / Now go walk in My light.” / All can hear of it, / Hearts revealing it, / Gently moved by Your might.

Of one accord, of one Mind, / Our healing mission we find. / We pray together—our lives in worship bind. / The Comforter is with us; / Its presence here assures us: / “I am guiding you / And uniting you / Through the love of God’s Son. / I am blessing you; / I am healing you; / I am making you one.”
(Christian Science Hymnal, No. 601)

O Life that maketh all things new, / The blooming earth, the thoughts of men; / Our pilgrim feet, wet with Your dew, / In gladness hither turn again.

From hand to hand the greeting flows, / From eye to eye the signals run, / From heart to heart the bright hope glows, / The seekers of the Light are one:

One in the freedom of the truth, / One in the joy of paths untrod, / One in the heart’s perennial youth, / One in the larger thought of God;—

The freer step, the fuller breath, / The wide horizon’s grander view; / The sense of Life that knows no death,— / The Life that maketh all things new.
(Christian Science Hymnal, No. 542)
